Our babes are the future and what a gift it is to them and their future selves to raise them consciously.

Imagine what your childhood, teenage years and early adulthood would have been like if your core foundations were self love, mindfulness, awareness of emotions, faith in a power of your choice and being able to find peace in chaos.

I know for me, it wouldn’t have led to me finding my worth in boys, feeling validated by being in the cool group, obsessing over my body, never feeling good enough or allowing external things to measure my worth.

We are the generation that is becoming more awake and conscious and it’s our responsibility to pass this onto our younger ones. And why wouldn’t we, right ?

Here are 3 easy tools you can implement into your babes’ routine to start them on a magical journey of consciousness and mindfulness?

 Morning Prayer :

Dear God ( Universe, stars, angels, moon, ocean, tree…whatever feels good for them )

Thank you for ( have your babe name 5 things they are grateful for )

Please help me to be and do my best today.

Please send lots of love to ( name 3 people )

Thank you for always looking after me God.

Amen

You can also always expand on this prayer once it becomes a foundation practise and your little one has an understanding of prayer.

If night time prayer works best for you -

Dear God ( Universe, stars, angels, moon, ocean, tree…whatever feels good for them )

Thank you for a magical day. I am grateful for ( have your babe name 5 things they are grateful for )

Please help me to be and do my best today tomorrow

Please send lots of love to ( name 3 people )

Thank you for always looking after me God.

Amen

Meditation

Ok, so why is meditation important for children?

Regular meditation has so many awesome benefits on emotional and mental development. It helps our little loves tune into themselves and turn inward when they are feeling confused, hurt, angry or less than worthy.

A few other little benefits meditation can assist with -

  • helps them to fall asleep if practised before bed
  • helps them deal and overcome difficult emotions
  • helps release negative thoughts and emotions

TIP- Make sure you sit your kiddies down and explain what mediation is and the expected process will be.

(eg. I want you to try sitting cross legged for a few minutes and all you have to do is focus on breathing in and out. Try not to think of anything except your belly going in and out with your breath. We meditate because it helps all of us to be kind and peaceful people etc )

It may even help to sit and meditate with them the first few times to help them feel more comfortable and at ease with the practise.

In some cases meditation can also be used as a new form of “time out” as it allows kids to process the situation and their behavior first.

Mantra

Our souls believe everything we tell it. That’s why so many of us grew up thinking we were too fat, too ugly, not smart enough and we believed it. We subconsciously told ourselves these things everyday starting at an early age because this is what we heard spewing out of the TV, read in magazines, felt at school and even learned due to our parents judgments of themselves and others. All these things shape our core belief system from an early age.

If our souls believe everything we tell it, why not feed it the most positive things over and over to shape our truth?

In the mirror or in the car start encouraging your kidlets to use the following mantra. It’s best said multiple times daily.

“ I am smart, I am beautiful, I can do anything, I love myself, Today will be a great day! “

The most important thing of all is to keep it light and try to keep it as consistent as possible.

Let’s raise out weekend wine glasses to brave, confident, kind self loving darling of the future. They ARE the way!
